OPERATIONS & MAINTENANCE
BGE offers an industry-leading, full scope O&M Service to ensure that you have the peace of mind that your plant is being looked after well.
We operate based on our core competencies of:
Responsiveness – minimizing downtime and maximising production. We continually monitor your plant and rapidly deploy local engineers to address site issues. When you have questions, we answer them.
Expertise – ensuring rapid diagnosis and rectification of faults. Field engineers are continuously learning new skills so that they can fix whatever they find at site. Our field engineers have received specialist training and have extensive experience with a wide range of inverter manufacturers, including SMA, Power Electronics and Schneider. We know where to go for outside help whenever we need it. At all times we insist on quality and safety in the work we do.
Relationship management – we aim to be open and honest with you and also with anyone else we work with. You can track what we are doing through our ticketing system. Our aim is to provide pragmatic, cost-effective solutions to enable your plant to be producing as much as possible for as long as possible.
Our approach to O&M is to deliver as much as we can with our own team so that we can control both speed and quality. As a result, we use our own monitoring, HV, parts management and field engineering resources across all sites and our own grounds maintenance and panel cleaning wherever we can.
Our results speak for themselves, with site performance regularly better than our peers and costs among the most competitive in the industry.
REPOWERING
Repowering. As sites age, warranties expire and manufacturers get less responsive, many solar site owners are considering replacing the installed inverters or PV modules.
We can provide you with options for repowering your site to both optimise performance and create a robust system to minimise future maintenance issues.
With experience in all aspects of solution design, procurement and installation, we can provide an end-to-end service to replace any inverter on site including the harvesting of the removed inverters for any re-usable parts.
For PV modules, we can help you source a suitable module to match to the mounting structure at the site and manage the procurement and installation at the site including the updating of site drawings.
BIODIVERSITY MANAGEMENT
Solar sites offer significant opportunities for biodiversity enhancements with the potential for a long periods of relatively undisturbed existence. We have developed significant in-house capacity to manage the grounds of your solar farm to ensure compliance with existing planning requirements as well as propose opportunities to improve biodiversity on the site.
With the potential to earn bio-diversity net gain payment likely in the near future, now is the time to survey your site to ensure a baseline exists for future comparison.
Once a survey is complete, we can propose opportunities to improve the biodiversity of the site and help contribute to your environmental goals.
BATTERY STORAGE
With the growth in battery storage projects in the UK and a significant pipeline of future installations planned, we have the field presence and expertise to provide the quality O&M you need for your battery storage sites.
Our monitoring team ensures battery performance is tracked in real time and with field engineers located across the UK, we can sure a rapid response to any on-site issues.
Understanding the particular commercial risks of managing a large-scale battery asset ensures that we give the system the attention it deserves – both proactively and reactively.
MONITORING
We monitor all sites under our care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; both the security of your site and the technical elements that are in place on it. Whether it’s an inverter that goes down, or someone breaks in, our bespoke monitoring system will pick up on it and notify our team immediately.
Brighter Green Engineering believes you should know what we know, so we share all site data in real time with our clients via our online portal, allowing our customers to check on the issues each site may be experiencing together with being able to track the arrival of the site engineer and the steps he takes to remedy any breakdown.
Any incidents are also reported on a monthly basis as part of the detailed report, including the production of the site. Our response line is also open 24/7 and will take you directly to one of our engineers so that if the problem is urgent, it can be dealt with immediately
SPARE PARTS
Brighter Green Engineering maintain logistics centres with a provision of spare parts covering our entire portfolio of equipment, including inverters and transformers from different manufacturers together with ancillary items such as CCTV and monitoring systems, fusing and connections, AC & DC Contactors, G59 relays, CT and VT packages.
BGE’s Spares Service aims to address the issues of obsolescence by providing a spares holding and delivery guarantee based on the specific needs of our client’s portfolio of assets.
The benefits therefore include:
– Reduced production losses due to equipment manufacturing and delivery lead times
– Guaranteed delivery times for agreed spares
– Secure, climate controlled, accessible storage for all spares
– More competitive pricing of spares as they are not purchased at a time of emergency
– Reduced equipment obsolescence due to age or deterioration on site
– Access to better analysis of equipment failures across the industry
– Protection against warranty expiry
– Transparent reporting of spares availability based on the minimum commitments
– Predictable spares pricing based on a ‘cost-plus’ model.
